Event Recycling

Do you need containers for collecting recyclables at special events? We have the containers for you! ClearStream™ Recyclers (www.bagandtag.com) are great for use at fairs, festivals, workshops, athletic, and other special events.
The Johnson County Recycling District has 18 of these containers available for rent on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please call the District office at 738-2546 for details of the rental program.
These containers allow you to offer recycling at little to no cost and possibly even generate a small amount of additional income by selling the aluminum cans collected. In Johnson County, Crossroads Recycling buys cans and is located at 100 Eastview Drive in Franklin; 736-6099. Various scrap dealers in Indianapolis also buy cans. Check the yellow pages under “Scrap Metal.”
The ClearStream Recycler container is a heavy-duty, 80% post-consumer recycled steel frame with a secure bag lock. It has a raised, 4-hole lid with highly visible graphics. The clear, 45-gallon capacity recycle bags contain 10% post-consumer recycled content and hold up to 350 cans or 220 bottles (uncrushed). Bags are quickly swapped by sliding out, not lifting up to prevent potential injury
To reserve ClearStream Recycling Containers for your event, call the District office at 738-2546. When you pick up the ClearStream(s), you will be asked to fill out a reservation form
(or print and complete the attached reservation form Reservation Form ), which will be filed with your deposit.

SET UP IS EASY!
1. Stand facing one of the frame”s Secure Bag Locks (the loops). Place one foot on the bottom rung to stabilize the frame. Insert empty bag inside of the frame. Using two hands, pull approximately 6″ of bag through the loop as shown. For best chance of visibility, be sure the printed side is completely facing one of the open ends of the frame.
2. Still using two hands, pull the bag over the loop and toward the center, wrapping it around the corners.
3. Let go of the end of the bag and grasp the bag as shown. Pull down and in until you feel a great deal of resistance. The bag will tighten around the Secure-Lock so it cannot slip off.
