<address><strong><span style="font-size: medium;">The Tox Box is a household hazardous waste materials collection program designed to be a safe and convenient way for Johnson County residents to dispose of toxic household materials/chemicals such as oil-based paint, stains, cleaning products, and herbicides, pesticides, and many other household chemicals</span>.  </strong></address>

<li><strong><strong>THE TOX BOX IS OPEN TO RESIDENTS ONLY!  If you are a business or CESQG with disposal needs, please call the District office at 317-738-2546 for disposal options.  </strong></strong></li>
<li><strong><strong></strong>Medications/pharmaceuticals can not be accepted at the Tox Box.  Pharmaceutical/Medication Drug Take Back Day is set for April 28 at the District office, 900 Arvin Rd., Suite A in Franklin.  Other year-round options are available.  Call the office at 738-2546 for disposal information. </strong></li>
<li><strong>Small quantities of florescent tubes and ballasts can be  brought to the district office during regular business hours.  There is no charge for this service. We can not accept florescent tubes from businesses.  Businesses should contact Lighting Resources, 498 Park 800 Drive, Greenwood at 888-3889 for disposal information.</strong></li>
<li><strong>CFL bulbs (curly bulbs) can be taken to the Lowes or Home Depot service desk for FREE environmentally safe disposal.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Latex paint will be accepted at a charge of $4.00/gallon or $2.00/quart.  To avoid this cost, you may dry out latex paint on your own by leaving the lid off and filling the container with sand or kitty litter.  Once the paint is completely dry, it can go into your regular trash for disposal.  This method will only work with latex household paint and should not be attempted with other substances or oil based paints or stains.</strong></li>
<li><strong>We reserve the right to reject large quantities of chemicals or volatile materials. CESQG&#8217;s should call the District office for disposal options.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Materials such as radioactive materials, bio-medical wastes, and explosives WILL NOT be accepted. </strong></li>

<p><span style="color: #993300; font-size: x-large;"><strong><strong><strong>&gt;</strong>Spring Clean up Day </strong></strong></span><strong><span style="color: #993300; font-size: x-large;">is set for April 21, 2012 at the District office, 900 Arvin Rd., Franklin!</span> <span style="color: #000000; font-size: x-large;">We will be accepting tires, household hazardous waste, and electronics ONLY.</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000; font-size: x-large;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong>We will not be accepting trash or appliances with or without refrigerant at this location. </strong> </span></span><span style="color: #000000;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Disposal options for trash will be at the Franklin Transfer Station 730 Industrial Drive, (off U.S. 31 south of the Franklin Police Station).  Disposal of all appliances will be at CRS (Community Recycling Solutions) 980 Hurricane Rd., Franklin.  Both of these businesses are nearby the District office and will remain open during the course our our event to accommodate residents wishing to dispose of these items.</span><span style="font-size: x-large;"><strong>  </strong></span></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;"><strong></strong>If you can&#8217;t make it, we have year round recycling and disposal options for nearly anything you need to get rid of.  Call us at 317-736-2546 for specifics if you can&#8217;t find it on our website.  </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;"><strong><span style="font-size: x-large;"><span style="color: #993300;">&gt;Recycle your Electronics!  It&#8217;s the law!</span> </span></strong>New legislation prohibiting the disposal of electronic devices (e-waste) from mixing with trash bound for landfills or incinerators went into effect January 1, 2011.  Under IC 13-20.5-10, you may not knowingly mix or allow the mixing of any electronic device in with your regular trash. </span></p>
